Greenham Common Women
A Stop Motion Short Film
In celebration of Greenham Common Women's anniversary, reflect on the events that occurred at the protest against nuclear weapons being placed in Greenham Common, Berkshire
Greenham Common Women is a stop motion short film that celebrates the anniversary of the victory on the events that occurred at the Peace Camp against nuclear weapons being placed in Greenham Common, Berkshire. We worked with Scary Little Girl's Company in order to bring this film to life.
We worked towards a client brief, and had 12 weeks to produce this short film from pre-production to the final edit. As a team of seven we were expected to complete at least a 2 minute film, which was more than what the brief asked for. However, we were determined to show off our skills and bring back the studios love for stop motion. Although the events that occurred at Greenham Common were not positive, we wanted to show off how, through the women's determination, they were able to achieve their goal. By using bright colours and various character designs, we were able to show off the diversity of the women and convey how they were united.
We received positive feedback from our client and lecturers, this made me feel very proud and confident for our projects later to come.
